B's Soccer

B is playing soccer this season too. I never thought he would do it since last year he would not do anything without us. Now he wakes up and asks when his next game is!

He plays out of Woodstock Baptist Church.

He is very aggressive! I am so proud! For being one of the youngest, he does very well!

He can be very aggressive when he chooses.

He wants to kick the ball, I hear him all the time asking the coach to kick or throw in the ball!

C wants to play, but instead she has to watch! Her coach told me today how impressed he is with her! She is super aggressive!

Mullin's Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Easter! We went to our friend's house the Mullin's again for their annual egg hunt.

Below is just trouble, B, Spencer and Collin.

B is so excited to do his first egg hunt of the season, first but not last!

C is very particular, she wanted certain eggs, not dirty ones! Right before they came in to hunt, she slid in the mud and had to be cleaned up. This put her in an off mood.

All is good, the girls are having fun. Love these girls!

Ah, Abbey and Caitlin. They have known each other since Abbey was 2, C was younger. They are so sweet!

TROUBLE!

Newport Beach, CA

James earned a trip to Newport Beach, California through work. The long hours and late nights he works finally paid off and we both got to take a much needed vacation! We left April 7th in the morning and returned Sunday, April 10th. My parents watched the kids.

On the trip we went to a mission and toured the grounds. It was beautiful and very informative. Then we went to a wine tasting. We were seated at a table with a plate of cheeses and breads then taught about different types of wines. It was a really interesting lesson.

This was inside the church at the mission, absolutely beautiful!

Our resort was on the hills of California overlooking the Pacific Ocean. James and I took a short walk down to the water front.

Since the kids were not with us I only had my Iphone to take pictures. Below is a picture of the resort taken from where we had breakfast. The pool is a perfect 360 degrees, though it was too cold for us to use while we were there. They actually were having a cold snap for our trip, the week before it was 80 degrees, when we got there it was windy and 50.

I could sit out and look at this view all day long. It was so very peaceful!

Our resort had a golf course, though James and I did not use it. We heard from many it was a great course.

We stayed in our own bungalow. I could have stayed on our deck all day, it blocked the wind and the sun hit it perfectly!

We had an amazing time, but were very excited to get back to our kids!

C's New Do!

This Past Monday Caitlin told me she needed to get her hair cut because her hair was so hot on her neck. Everything makes her so hot! I told her we would talk to Daddy and see. I actually figured the next day she would change her mind because she always says she wants to grow it long, but she didn't. When she woke up she asked to get it cut so I took her. And I love it!! She looks older, her hair looks fuller and healthier.

She could not stop smiling all day. When we got together with friends she would go up to them and just smile, wanting them to comment on her hair. When she woke up today she told me she just had to look again!

So now she looks all sweet, then there is her brother!! He loves his hair. He told me he wants to look like Uncle Crazy Hair! I think he is well on his way

!

Backyard Mess

We decided to make some changes to our backyard. Those of you that saw our backyard when we first bought our house know that we had half grass and half dirt. We quickly added more grass.

We have decided we want to have the entire backyard grass, less maintenance. This past Tuesday we had a tree company come in and take out 15 Big trees. The kids loved watching the guy climb up the trees and chop them down.

But, they had to bring a Bobcat in so they could bring the big logs out. The ground was wet and the Bobcat made a mess of the yard.

Below is the picture of the mulch pile they left for us. It goes back a fair distance.

Yes, more dirt, that is what we keep seeing. But hopefully we will see green grass. We eventually want to put evergreens as a natural boundary that way we don't see our neighbors.

That is our small dirt pile. We need a lot more to do our project!

At least we know what we will be doing for the next few (many) weekends!!

Braden's Soccer Game

This week I missed Braden's soccer game because Caitlin had a birthday party to go to. But James brought the camera so we could get some pictures of B playing.

Braden counts down the days until he gets to play soccer. A year ago, I would never have thought this would happen. Now he gets so excited to play and be with his friends.

He is on a team with two of his buddies from our neighborhood, Cole and Colin. He is with Cole in these pictures.

He is very aggressive and listens well to his coach. In fact, during the week I tell him I will tell his coach if he is not listening to me and he straightens right up!

Braden is fast when he wants to get the ball. He even knows what goal to go for!

He is seriously thinking about who to kick it to!

That is my soccer boy!

Dance Pictures

This past week Caitlin had to get dressed up in her dance recital costume for pictures. I love the costumes this year, she does too!

These are Caitlin's friends. Sophia, on the left, did dance with her last year. Ellie, on the right, was in her PreK class and they are good friends now.

The girls love to get dressed up and Caitlin gets excited because I let her wear lip gloss.

This past week in Preschool we celebrated Neighbors Around the World. Each class represented a different country and the kids "flew" to each class to learn about the country. My class was Australia, I have a little boy from there and his mom came in with everything!

Braden's class was England. His was proud of his flag and crown!

Braden started soccer too. Unfortunately, last weekend I forgot my camera. So I figured I would take lots of pictures today. All the games were cancelled due to the weather. I was bummed. Braden is having so much fun. He loves to play and is really good! If you told me last year he would be like this I would not have believed you. He refused to do any group activity. He is growing up!
