107 degrees and Camping!

About a month ago I was at the pool with our neighbors the Gagnon's and we had this fantastic idea to get a group and go camping.  The weather had been cool and we thought what a great thing to do with the kids, little did we know we had chosen the hottest weekend ever, Atlanta broke the record for how high we got!  I think it was up to 107 on Saturday!  But it did not stop the Gagnon's, the Morgan's, the Womack's, and us from camping.  The kids had a blast and we made some lasting memories!
Below is the Gagnon's camp site.  Notice their dog who had a fan to help her keep cool.

The Morgan's setting up their tent, which was right next to ours.

Our tent.  Braden was trying to get the sand off.  How we stayed cool all day on Saturday was to stay in the water at Lake Allatoona.  They had a little beach for the kids to play on.

Caitlin after swimming all day.

Caitlin's dear friend Zoe.

Mckenna Morgan (I think, she is a twin and we can never remember who is who!)
Notice Kara's head popping out.  She was on her third attempt to get the blow up mattresses up.
 McKenna, being silly!

 Braden playing in the sand.
Zoe's baby sister Ava who Caitlin adores.
 Daddy and B making something.
After dinner we took the kids fishing.  It did not last long.  Too many bugs and too hot!

 Bill being, well Bill!
 Zoe doing some quiet fishing.
Braden and his good buddy Cole taking turns sharing a rod.
Kim wanted me to take a picture of her feet covered in gnats, you can't tell from this this picture. This is suppose to be a reminder for the next time we think about camping when it is so hot!
 Kara and Ava
Stacey.  Notice how she looks a lot fresher than all of us at this  point.  None of us had taken a shower since the day before but she had to run back home for something and took a shower, cheater!
 My sweet C.
Not sure which Morgan girl, Mckenna?
Dan and Ava, I think Ava was melting at this point.

The park rangers came around and quizzed the kids on water safety.  If they answered the questions correctly they got their ranger card, kind of like a baseball card.  The kids loved this, they attacked every ranger they saw.  This on gave the kids things.
We were trying to get packed up and cleaned up.  The kids entertained themselves in our Jeep.  Who would have known it would be just like a playpen!

We had a blast but I was so thankful to get home and take a shower.  My kids are all ready asking when we are going to go again.  I told them when it cools off!
